The best AI visibility (GEO) tools for 2027: 11 tools compared for small SaaS teams

You want ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Gemini to name your product when customers ask for a tool like yours. A GEO (generative engine optimization) tool, also called an AI visibility tool, checks what those assistants answer and helps you get into the answer. There are now dozens; this guide compares 11 for 2027.

Disclosure: we make LazyGEO, one of the 11. We list it with the same facts as the others, including where it falls short. Every price and feature below comes from each vendor’s own website, opened on 25 October 2026. Prices change often, so check the vendor’s page before you buy.

What is the best AI visibility tool for 2027?

There is no single best tool; it depends on who does the work. If you want data and have a marketer to act on it, Peec AI, Otterly.AI or Semrush fit. If you want the tool to do the work too, look at AthenaHQ, Goodie, Writesonic or LazyGEO. Large brands with budget look at Profound and Scrunch.

The split that matters most in 2027 is between tools that report and tools that act. A report tells you that AI names your competitor; someone still has to write the pages, get onto the lists AI quotes and fix your facts. If nobody on your team has that time, a cheaper report tool can cost more in the end.

How did we pick and check these tools?

We took the tools that appear most in current “best GEO tools” lists, plus the two largest SEO suites with AI tracking, Semrush and Ahrefs. For each one we opened its own pricing and product pages on 25 October 2026 and wrote down only what those pages state, with links.

Where a page did not state something, the table says “not listed”. Where two of a vendor’s own pages disagreed, we say so. We did not test the tools hands-on for this guide, and we did not use any vendor’s numbers about results. For background on the terms, see What is GEO (generative engine optimization)?

Which tools only track AI answers, and which do the work for you?

Peec AI, Otterly.AI, Ahrefs Brand Radar and Rankscale mainly track answers and suggest actions. Semrush adds recommendations, with content workflows only on Enterprise. Scrunch, AthenaHQ, Writesonic, Goodie and Profound include agents that write or fix things. LazyGEO writes pages and pitches and prepares listings for you.

What does each tool cost to start, and which AI assistants does it track?

Entry prices run from $29 a month (Otterly.AI Lite) to custom quotes (Profound). Most entry plans track three or four assistants and charge extra for more. Claude is the most common add-on. Google AI Overviews and AI Mode are widely covered, which matters if your customers search Google more than they chat.

Which tool fits a small SaaS team with no marketer?

A small team with no marketer needs a tool that does the work, not only one that reports. Among the 11, AthenaHQ, Goodie, Writesonic and LazyGEO write content or make fixes on their entry plans. Of those, Writesonic and LazyGEO start under $100 a month; AthenaHQ and Goodie start at $295.

What they do differs. Writesonic leans on articles and site fixes. Goodie and AthenaHQ add outreach and technical agents. LazyGEO writes comparison pages and articles on your domain and writes to authors of the “best X” lists AI quotes; nothing goes out in your name without a 24-hour window and a Stop button. Ask each one what still lands on your desk.

Which tool fits a marketing team that wants data?

A marketing team that will act on the data itself gets the most prompts and assistants per dollar from tracking tools. Otterly.AI starts at $29 and Peec AI at $95 with daily tracking. Teams already on Semrush or Ahrefs can add AI tracking to the suite they know, which keeps reports in one place.

Prompts are the number to compare. A plan with 15 or 25 prompts covers a handful of customer questions; answers change from run to run, so you want each question asked often. SparkToro found the same list of brands came back less than 1 in 100 times across reruns (Search Engine Journal on SparkToro).

Which tool fits an agency running many clients?

Agencies need many brands or projects in one account and reports they can send. Otterly.AI’s Premium plan is aimed at agencies, Peec AI and Profound list agency pricing, and Rankscale’s Growth plan is built for agencies. Scrunch and AthenaHQ sell to agencies on their higher tiers, with enterprise features such as SSO.

For a client report, the useful parts are the real answers word for word and the pages each assistant quoted, not only a score. Check that the tool lets you export those. LazyGEO’s Growth and Scale plans cover three and five projects, but it has no white-label reports today.

Where does LazyGEO fit, and where does it fall short?

LazyGEO is built for small SaaS teams who will not do the work themselves. It asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude and Gemini your customers’ questions every week, writes comparison pages and articles on your domain, writes to authors of lists AI quotes, and prepares your directory listings. Plans are $99, $249 and $449 a month.

Where it falls short, plainly: it does not track Google AI Overviews, AI Mode or Copilot yet. Directory listings come as ready-to-paste kits, so someone still presses Submit. It is a young product, and our own first check named us in 0 of 81 answers (our data post). If you need a large prompt set or Google’s AI answers today, a tracking tool above fits better.

What should you check before you pay for any AI visibility tool?

Check four things on the vendor’s own page: which assistants the plan you would buy covers, how many prompts it includes, what happens after the report, and whether the trial needs a card. Then run your own three customer questions in ChatGPT and Perplexity and compare with what the tool shows.

Also check that your pages can be found at all. AI assistants that search the web lean on search indexes, and Google says a page must be indexed to appear in its AI features (Google Search Central). The free check shows what AI can read on your site today, and our guide to where to start explains what to do first.
